The story starts with Mr Tan Siang Tjien from China; a goldsmith who decided to migrate to Indonesia pre-WW2 in search of better opportunities and life. A few years later, he brought his son along and taught him the craft. The duo soon saved up enough to open up their first shop, however it was destroyed during the war. After the war, the environment stabilized and they managed to setup a chain of goldsmith shops.
The first shop was managed by the founder’s son. Years later, he decided to build a jewellery manufacturing plant in Central Java to meet the demands of the shops. The plant being closer to nature and culture enabled them to soak in its bountiful inspiration for the designs.
